For as long as I can remember I have liked to make things, do crafts and be creative. My mother taught me to sew when I was 9 years old and I have been doing it ever since then. Since graduating from college I have been working as a nurse in a Newborn Intensive Care Unit but like to stay busy when I am not working. I bought my own sewing machine and continued to do a lot of sewing. In the past I have made appliqued sweatshirts for a small company, was the seamstress for a clothing designer and for awhile was making clothing and handbags for a boutique owner. When my children were young I made a lot of their clothes, made doll clothes, etc.
In 1997 I began making the tents and selling them at craft shows and in consignment shops. I like picking out fabric prints that I think will appeal to children. I am somewhat of a perfectionist – quality and neatness are important to me. Seeing children approach my booth at a craft show with excitement and big smiles on their faces makes me smile.
